Spanish Police Declared Manhunt For The Suspected Barcelona Attack Flee Driver
According to report, On Wednesday evening a white Fiat van was seen driven down to Las Ramblas in central Barcelona, killing 13 people and injured many people. Since the attack; only five deceased has been named as:
- American Jared Tucker, 43
- Canadian Ian Moore Wilson
- Spaniard Francisco López Rodríguez, in his 60s
- Italian Bruno Gulotta, 35
- Italian Luca Russo, 25.
The Portuguese, Argentinean, Spanish and Belgian governments also said that their citizens were also killed in the attack. The said citizens are 74-year-old Portuguese woman, a 40-year-old woman with dual Argentinean and Spanish citizenship and a Belgian.
The driver escaped on foot after the attack was successfully carried out. Spanish police chief Josep Trapero said, A 17 years old Moussa Oukabir earlier reported as the main suspect, was one of the five men killed by police after a later attack in Cambrils, west of Barcelona.
So the Police announced manhunt for Moroccan-born Younes Abouyaaqoub, named by Spanish media as the suspected driver. The police made known that the suspect and his members are planning “more sophisticated attacks”, as The they said that the shootout on Wednesday in the town of Alcanar deprived the attackers of bomb material so they carried out simpler attacks using vehicles.
Report from the police said, “In the early hours of Friday police shot dead five attackers including Oukabir in Cambrils after they drove a car into pedestrians killing one woman and injuring six others”.
The police said that the plotters vehicle diminished and when the men got out they were quickly fired upon by police. One was reportedly wielding a knife.
Police chief Trapero said, “One police officer killed four of the attackers single-handedly”. And the attackers were wearing what looked like explosive belts, police said, but these were proved to be a deceit”.
