General Requirements Delta State University Postgraduate Programmes 2019 Admission

  • Candidates seeking admission into Postgraduate studies are required to have a degree certification or its equivalent from the recognized institution by the Senate.
  • Candidates must have scored a minimum of five (5) credit passes with English Language and Mathematics inclusive in 0’Level WASC/NECO/GCE (Ordinary Level)/NABTEB obtained at not more than two sittings.
  • Pass in English or Mathematics will not be accepted.
  • ACE and TC II will not be accepted as well.
  • No equivalent to WASC, NECO, GCE or NABTEB and no waiver for any applicant.

Requirements for Each Programme

  • Applicants seeking admission into Ph.D. programmes must have at least a weighted average score of 60% overall.
  • Any candidate applying for Academic Master Degrees such as M.Sc., M.Ed., M.A. and LL.M. must have obtained a bachelor’s degree certification in the appropriate discipline from any recognized university or Delta State University with at least Second Class Honors’ (Lower Division) degree recognized by Senate.
  • Professional Master Degree aspirants must have a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline with a minimum of Second Class Honors’ (Lower Division) acquired from the Delta State University or other recognized university by Senate or an HND certification with Upper Credit acquired from any senate-recognized polytechnic.
  • Applicants going for Postgraduate Diploma programmes must possess a minimum of bachelor’s degree in appropriate course with at least Third Class Honors’ degree from the Delta State University or any recognized university or a Higher National Diploma with Lower Credit acquired from any senate-recognized Polytechnic.
  • On Saturday, 7th September 2019 all Master’s and Ph.D. programmes aspirants will take a qualifying examination.

  • Click on ‘Apply For Admission’
  • Click on the ‘Start’ button.
  • Select a programme type.
  • Click on the ‘Apply’ button.
  • Signup and make a payment of non-refundable thirty-one thousand Naira (N31.000.00).
  • Fill your online application form using the on-site guides.

  • Forms sale will end on 31st July 2019.
  • Payment must be made at any of the designated banks listed below:

  • Every applicant is required to submit photocopies of these documents:
    1. Downloaded Application Form (2 Hard copies)
    2. Transcript of all previous qualifications acquired
    3. WASC/GCE/NECO/NABTEB Certificate (TC II not acceptable)
    4. NYSC Certificate/Exclusion Exemption/Certificate gotten from only NYSC.
    5. Ph.D. applicants should submit research proposal enumerating area of research interest (3 to 5 pages)
